About the Centre of the professional qualification improvement of medical workers (TIPME)
► Formation:
- Tashkent Institute for doctors improvement was established as the Central Asian Institute for Improvement of doctors on June 2, 1932 on the basis of the No.459 order of the Presidium of the Central Asian Economic Council.
- the institute functioned as a large center of Union significance, since the geography of educational programs was wide. Doctors both from neighboring republics, and from the Far East and Siberia came here to study. Each cycle of the improvement was distinguished by the diversity of its geography, incorporating various nationalities and specialties.
- in 1982 the institute was awarded the by Order of the Red Banner of Labor.
- According to the RP of RUz No. 4666 dated from April 7, 2020 TIPME was reorganized into the Center of the Professional Qualification Improvement of Medical Workers (CI).
► Purpose of the Center: training, retraining and a qualification increasing of healthcare managers and organizers, doctors, nurses with higher education, financial managers, as well as engineers and technicians for medical equipment and all medical personnel to train highly qualified healthcare personnel.

- Training is carried out according to 762 accredited programs, including:
- 36 clinical residency programs (residency);
- 285 specialization programs lasting from 18 to 24 months;

► Graduates of the Center
- since its formation in 1932, more than 628 thousand specialists have been trained on the basis of the Center;
- from 1991 to 2021 more than 540 thousand specialists were trained;
- from 2017 to 2021 more than 130 thousand specialists were trained;
- from March 2020 to the present more than 46 thousand specialists were trained, including more than 29 thousand in various courses against to COVID-19.

- Training of medical specialists in the system of postgraduate education
- Training is conducted in more than 60 clinical areas, 760 accredited cycles in Uzbek, Russian and English.
- Clinical residency training period - 2.3 years.
- Courses on specialization, the term of study is from 1.5 to 24 months.
- Courses of the qualification improvement, duration from 18 to 144 hours
- Internships in various fields of medicine.
- Сadets from China, Afghanistan, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation are studied in the Center under the direction of: cardiology, oncology, physiotherapy, acupuncture, urology, ultrasound, obstetrics, gynecology and perinatal medicine.
- Scientific work
- scientific research is carried out in more than 60 branches of medical science;
- there are 39 employees who defended their dissertation in 2017-2021. - PhD - 47, DMSc .
- The staff of the Center are working on 5 research grants: 3 of them are applied and 2 are fundamental grants.
Scientists of the institution have prepared about 60 more scientific and international (GIZ, IAEA. KOICA, WHO, UNICEF, TIKA, etc.) grants, which are waiting its approvement;
- the teaching staff is actively working on the release of scientific publications. Thus, for the 2020-2021 academic year, 908 articles were published in reputable scientific journals, 57 monographs, 144 study guides and recommendations, 430 abstracts, as well as 93 publications in the Scopus platform. - there is the website CPQIMW-ARM (2235 subscribers) (https://t.me/joinchat/FUbdxRe9yxdf9_HwO6QbrA), a website is maintained that operates 24/7 and provides the necessary information on-line around the clock. A selection of literature for scientific activities is being carried out. References to foreign and republican seminars, conferences, congresses are given daily to take a participation and listen.

► Specifics of the Center
- Within the framework of our health care system, the matter of doctors improvement, issues of obtaining a new specialty, if it is necessary an additional narrow specialty. In the system of CPQIMW (TIPME) and its divisions (FPK), this work is carried out in 285 directions.
- Since 2005, a distance learning system has been introduced in various organizational and technical forms: a training site (Moodle-platform), tele-videoconferences (zoom-platform), external education and classroom learning with field and distance (in the form of video-audio conferences) courses. Distance learning is available for all regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan and it is especially relevant and successful in Long distant regions.;
- this is the only center that has the right to training activities in the area of training radiation safety specialists in the Republic (Resolutions No. 231, 869 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan), there is a Scientific Research and Testing Radiological Laboratory (SRTRL) accredited by ISO 17025 and certified by the Ministry of Health , which is engaged in training specialists, examining samples of environmental objects, quality control of X-ray diagnostic equipment;
- about 25 thousand medical workers are trained annually within the walls of the Center;
- an electronic database has been created for the registration of each specialist who applied to the center in order to improve their qualifications or obtain a new narrow specialty;
- simulation centers (5 directions) have been created in compliance to the international standards, where doctors are trained using modern simulation mechanisms;
- The practice of inviting foreign specialists to conduct master classes, seminars, and lectures is used quite actively. The student contingent received a new wave of inspiration, motivation is increased, and the acquired knowledge is actively reinforced in practice. Specialists from Germany, France, Korea, Ukraine, Russia, Georgia and Azerbaijan and many other states were invited;
- since the beginning of the pandemic to the present scientists of the Center have been conducting videoconferences and webinars with international experts on relevant health issues, including coronavirus infection;
- There is a free access to electronic library resources. Since 2005 we have been cooperating with the Center for Evidence-Based Medicine of the Oxford University, from where we receive information and have an access to educational materials online, simulation centers, all types of distance learning, including on the Moodle platform;
- At our Center there is a hotel-type hostel "Shifokor" for 699 places, where favorable conditions have been created for the residence of cadets'-doctors during their training
- on self-supporting activities, an average of 25 301 494 484 soums are earned annually.
