Azizov Mirhakim Zhavkharovich was born in 1950 in the Balikchi district of the Andijan region. In 1974 he graduated from the medical faculty of AndGosMI. From 1975 to 1982 he worked as a traumatologist at the regional hospital. From 1982 to 1984 he passed clinical residency at CITO in Moscow. After graduation, he worked as an assistant, and since 1992 - an associate professor of the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics 2 Tashkent State Medical Institute. In 1987 he defended his Ph.D. thesis. In 1994 M.Zh. Azizov became the head of the department of pathology of large joints and spine at the NIITiO MH RUz. He was the first in the Republic to start using modern foreign designs of hip joint endoprostheses. In 1995 M.Zh. Azizov defended his doctoral dissertation. In 1997, he was appointed director of the NIITiO MH RUz. Under his leadership, a radical restructuring of all areas of the institute's activities began: the massive introduction of the best foreign technologies, especially in operative arthrology and vertebrology, computerization and equipping with new equipment, intensification of the treatment and diagnostic process. He restored scientific ties with many foreign centers in his specialty. He created a scientific school of orthopedics. He is a member of the World Association of Traumatologists and Orthopedists "SICOT", a member of the Association of Orthopedic Traumatologists of the Russian Federation, a member of the Editorial Council of a number of domestic and foreign medical journals, Chairman of the Scientific, Scientific and Specialized Councils of the Institute. Participant of the World Congresses "SICOT" (St. Petersburg, 2002 ., Cuba, Havana, 2004); International Symposia 2000 - Tuttlingen, Germany, 2001 - Geneva, Switzerland, 2003 - Cardiff, Great Britain, 2002 - Moscow, Russia, 2003 - Astana, Kazakhstan, 2004 - Kurgan, Russia. Under his leadership, 5 doctors and 12 candidates of sciences were trained. Author of over 200 scientific papers, 3 monographs, 30 teaching aids and 31 patents for inventions.
