Department of ENDOCRINOLOGY

         About the department:

         The Department of Endocrinology was organized in 1965 at the Tashkent Institute for Advanced Medical Studies for the first time in Central Asia by Professor E.G. Kayumov , who headed it for 25 years (1965-1986). Over the years, the department has trained over 600 qualified endocrinologists of the republic, the department participated in the opening of endocrinology clinics in the regions, and carried out scientific work on the epidemiology of diabetes mellitus in Uzbekistan.

In close collaboration with academician Y.Kh. Turakulov intensively developed thyroidology . Largely thanks to the joint efforts of these scientists, the problem of iodine deficiency was solved in Uzbekistan .

Merits of Professor E.G. Kayumova received high praise and he was awarded the honorary title “Honored Worker of Science.”

 

 

In 1989, Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences was appointed head of the Department of Endocrinology. Mirakhmedov M.M., head of the laboratory of experimental endocrinology of the Research Institute of Endocrinology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan .

 

 

From 1991 to 2011 г. The department was headed by professor, doctor of medical sciences. Rakhimova D.Z. In 2008, she was elected academician of the Russian Academy of Medical and Technical Sciences. Under the guidance of prof. Rakhimova D.Z. Over the course of over 20 years, more than 6 thousand doctors have improved, over 80 clinical residents have been trained.

 

 

Prof. Rakhimova D.Z. - author of over 100 publications, articles, theses, 10 methodological recommendations, 10 teaching aids, 5 monographs. Under her leadership, 2 candidate dissertations were defended. The main direction in the scientific activity of Rakhimova D.Z. was the study of cardiovascular pathology in diabetes mellitus. Much attention was paid to the clinical course and treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in menopause, diagnosis and treatment of anemia in hypothyroidism.

Since August 2011 The department is headed by prof., doctor of medical sciences Rakhimova G.N.

 

 

Today, under the leadership of the head of the Department of Endocrinology, CDPQMW, prof., Dsc. Rakhimova G.N. 10 candidate dissertations have been defended, 2 applicants for the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences, 6 free applicants, 2 basic doctoral students are preparing for defense.

Areas of scientific interests: type 2 diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular diseases, pediatric endocrinology: congenital hypothyroidism, registry of type 1 diabetes mellitus and orphan diseases, metabolic syndrome, disorders of sexual development, molecular genetic diseases of endocrine diseases. Rakhimova G.N. has more than 400 scientific publications, 40 methodological recommendations, 8 monographs. Member of EASD since 1998 , since 2000 IDF member , since 2008 ESPE member .

On the initiative of Prof. Rakhimova G.N. training programs in the specialty “Pediatric Endocrinology” and “Operative Endocrinology” were developed and implemented, and the MOODLE program for distance learning was prepared.

Since 2005, he has been a moderator of the international grant “ Life for child " from IDF , since 2010 moderator of the international grant "Childhood Diabetes in Uzbekistan" from WDF . Since 2015, international trainer at the school of pediatric endocrinology in the countries of the Caucasus and Central Asia from ESPE .

She is a member of the scientific council at the Russian Scientific and Practical Medical Center, a specialized approbation council at the TMA, the certification commission on endocrinology at the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan , a member of the editorial board of the popular scientific journal "Diabetes in Uzbekistan", an expert of the Ethics Committee at the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan , a consultant-expert of the project "Health - 3" of the World Health Organization. bank and WHO. In 2021 she was awarded the medal “30th Anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan ”.

         She has been working at the department since 1998. Head of educational and methodological work of the department. Engaged in the study of childhood endocrinological diseases with a genetic aspect, female reproductive diseases of endocrinological origin. She is an invited Member of the Academic Council of the Center for Children's Medical Research , Member of the Academic Council of the Faculty of Therapeutics, Member of the Problem Commission on Internal Medicine . In 2020 she was awarded the Mehr medal rather saccharine ."

 

 

Djurayeva Aziza Shakhzadeevna , Candidate of Medical Sciences , Associate Professor

         She has been working at the department since 2011 . Responsible for scientific work at the department. Member of the Academic Council of the Faculty of Therapeutics . Member of the Problem Commission on Internal Medicine . She studies the characteristics of complications of diabetes mellitus and thyroid diseases. Under the leadership of the Associate Professor Djurayeva Sh. Aziza 1 candidate dissertation has been defended.

 

 

Akhrorov Kamil Ubaydullaevich, assistant

He has been working at the department since 2018. Area of scientific interests: type 2 diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular complications, osteoporosis. Approved the topic of the dissertation on the topic “Optimization of diagnosis and treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and chronic heart failure .” He is responsible for the IT work of the department and for clinical residents. Narimova Gulchehra Djumaniyazovna , Doctor of Medical Sciences, assistant.

She has been working at the department since 2020. He is a senior researcher, head of the department of “ Thyroid pathology” of the Republican Scientific and Practical Center of Endocrinology named after. Academician Y.H. Turakulova . Deals with problems of neuroendocrinological diseases and their complications.

 

 

Alimdzhanov Nusratjon Amildzhanovich , candidate of medical sciences, assistant.

He has been working at the department since 2017. He is the head of the Department of Endocrine Surgery at the Russian Scientific and Practical Center of Endocrinology named after. Academician Y.H. Turakulova . Responsible for teaching practical skills to cadets of the “Operational Endocrinology” cycle. Scientific field Alimdzhanova N.A. are surgical diseases of the thyroid and parathyroid glands, tumors of the adrenal glands.

 

         Employees of the Department of Endocrinology actively participate in the organization of integral interdisciplinary cycles, including international ones. At the initiative of the head of the department, foreign improvement cycles were carried out in 2019 in the Republic of Kazakhstan and in 2022 in the Republic of Tajikistan.

 

 

 

 

 

         The department hosts many master classes and cycles with the participation of foreign scientists and researchers.

         Currently, the department has created all the conditions for an effective learning process ; the MOODLE training system has been introduced, which allows you to create and store electronic educational materials and set the sequence of their study. The MOODLE program allows you to optimally and comfortably create work rooms for doctors without any difficulties, without leaving your main workplace, which allows you to move through the educational material in a convenient format.

         The equipment of the clinical bases of the department allows clinical residents and students to optimally master endocrinology. The department is equipped with spacious classrooms and a lecture hall with multimedia equipment. Rooms for independent study of cadets equipped with office equipment, for conducting practical classes with the latest equipment, a library, etc., which allows optimizing the educational process for both cadets and teachers. In addition, the classroom equipment allows for communication at a distance during conference calls with colleagues when conducting on line of conferences and consultations.

In accordance with the requirements for the preparation of educational programs, the department is creating new programs of continuous postgraduate education, enriched with modern interactive technologies and the results of scientific research for practicing endocrinologists, cardiologists, family doctors and related specialties. Every year, a fundamental revision of curricula and plans of teaching aids is carried out according to recommendations (standards) approved by WHO, the Societies of Endocrinology of Europe, Russia and Uzbekistan, which is reflected in the educational and pedagogical work of the department. Each lecture and practical lesson is equipped with video materials and handouts, as an important condition for mastering new modern medical knowledge in the context of continuous postgraduate education.

For better assimilation of the material covered, professorial rounds with clinical analysis of patients are systematically conducted in the departments of the Center’s clinic.

Employees of the department are actively engaged in social work, participating in “health examinations” organized by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan , aimed at examining seriously ill patients with endocrinological diseases in remote regions of the republic, nursing homes and boarding schools for seriously ill patients, through the air ambulance service .
