Department history

History of the Department

According to Resolution No. 174 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated April 4, 2017 “On Additional Measures to Improve the System of Advanced Training and Retraining of Medical Workers”, starting from the 2017–2018 academic year, the Department of “Nurses with Higher Education” was established at the Tashkent Institute of Advanced Medical Education for the purpose of advanced training of specialists in higher nursing care.
Since 2017 and up to the present time, the department has been headed by Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor R.K. Salikhodjaeva.

To date, the department’s staff has published more than 100 scientific articles, developed educational-methodological manuals, practical guides, and recommendations. The department is a permanent partner in joint educational activities with international organizations such as WHO, UNICEF, and GIZ.

Purpose:
To establish advanced training for nurses with higher education, midwives, head nurses, and senior nurses. Updating their theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

Purpose of Educational Programs:
To deepen and update the theoretical and practical knowledge of nurses with higher education, head nurses, senior nurses, and midwives.
To develop their knowledge and skills in the following areas:
- the essence of nursing and its specificity in the healthcare system,
- working with normative-legal documents,
- applying basic economic and legal knowledge in the performance of professional duties,
- providing high-quality nursing care to the population,
- conducting scientific research on population health assessment using quantitative and qualitative indicators.
