On June 18, 2026, at 7:00 a.m. Tashkent time, a historic match took place as part of the FIFA World Cup group stage. For the first time in its history, the Uzbekistan national football team competed in the group stage of the World Cup, facing the Colombian national team. This significant sporting event attracted great interest and excitement not only among millions of our compatriots but also among the staff and learners of the Center for Professional Development of Medical Workers.

To mark this historic occasion, a collective viewing of the match was organized at the initiative of the Center’s Director, Professor Khabibulla Ataullayevich Akilov. Professors, teaching staff, deans, department heads, employees of the Center, course participants, and clinical residents were invited to the Center’s main conference hall. The participants watched the live broadcast of the match together, beginning at 7:00 a.m.

Before the match, the Director of the Center, Professor Khabibulla Ataullayevich Akilov, along with members of the academic staff, wished success to the Uzbekistan national team and expressed confidence that this historic game would open a new chapter in the development of national football and result in a достойное performance by the team. Those gathered proudly supported the national team during its first-ever appearance in the FIFA World Cup.

Throughout the match, the hall was filled with excitement and enthusiasm. In particular, the first goal scored by the Uzbekistan national team was met with loud applause and great joy from all participants. The goal vividly demonstrated the team’s skill, determination, and desire to achieve success.

Although the intense and highly competitive match ended with a 3–1 victory for Colombia, the Uzbekistan national team delivered a commendable performance in its World Cup debut. The players’ courage, fighting spirit, and determination inspired feelings of pride and admiration among the supporters.

Watching this historic match together further strengthened the spirit of unity, patriotism, and love for sports among the Center’s community. All participants wished the Uzbekistan national team success in its upcoming matches and expressed confidence in its future achievements on the international stage.
