Department of HEMATOLOGY AND TRANSFUSIOLOGY

The Department of Hematology and Transfusiology was organized in 1961 by Professor, the first female hematologist, Doctor of Medical Sciences Gulbakhram  Sulemanovna Suleymanova in 1961 on the basis of Tashkent City Hospital No. 15. She headed the department until 1985. During this period, the department developed methods of polychemotherapy for leukemia, studied hematological disorders in a number of somatic diseases, such as systemic connective tissue diseases, septic conditions, kidney diseases, etc.

For long impeccable work Suleymanova G.S. awarded the title “Honored Scientist of Uzbekistan.”

Over the years, famous scientists and specialists, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor S.T., worked at the department. Nadzhmitdinov, professor of the department and dean of the Faculty of Therapeutics Farmankulov H.K., for many years associate professor of the department Ph.D. Tadzhiev D.T. and etc.

 

 

From 1985 to 2016, the department was headed by Bahramov Saijalol Mukhmudovich, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences. Over the years of work, 6 doctors and 20 candidates of medical sciences have been trained, awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor, awarded the title “Honored Doctor of Uzbekistan”, awarded Certificates of Honor of the Republic of Uzbekistan, domestic and foreign medals. He has published more than 400 scientific articles, 17 manuals and monographs, and has 10 patents for inventions. Currently working as a professor at the department.

 

 

From 2017 to the present, the department is headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences. Associate Professor Iskhakov Eldor Jasurovich. Born in Tashkent in 1975, in 2020 he defended his doctoral dissertation (DSc) on the topic: “Improving program polychemotherapy and increasing its effectiveness by developing adequate accompanying treatment for the main forms of acute leukemia.”

Under his leadership, two young specialists are developing a scientific direction for acute hemoblastoses with the aim of assessing the toxic effect of cytostatics on organs and systems of the body and ways to correct accompanying therapy. He is a member of the editorial board of scientific journals in Uzbekistan and the CIS countries, the Chief freelance specialist in oncohematology of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Awarded the medal “30th Anniversary of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Uzbekistan”

Everyday life of the department:

 

 

 

 

The main scientific directions of the department: Diagnosis and ways of correcting toxic manifestations of therapy for hematological malignancies, problems of pediatric oncohematology, the hemostasis system in women with miscarriage, transplantology.

5. The department conducts scientific research on acute hemoblastosis in children and adults, diagnostics and ways to correct the hemostatic system in women with miscarriage; assessment of the collection, storage and use of hematopoietic cord blood cells for patients in need of transplantation. Four themes of scientific development (PhD) in the listed areas have been approved.

6. In connection with the processes of modernization and reform of domestic healthcare, starting from 2021, the department has developed training and specialization programs for doctors in the field of pediatric oncohematology, which are planned to be conducted on the basis of and jointly with the Republican Children's Center for Hematology, Oncology and Clinical Immunology of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It is planned to train more than eighty specialists.

Employees of the department have published 17 monographs, more than 600 scientific articles and theses, more than 20 methodological recommendations, 6 information letters, over 30 educational programs.

7. The main clinical bases of the department are the clinic of the Republican Specialized Medical Scientific and Practical Center for Hematology and the Children's Center for Hematology, Oncology and Clinical Immunology of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Tashkent, Chilanzar Tuman, Arnasay St., 17a) and the research and production enterprise “Blood Products” of the Health Department khokimiyat of Tashkent (Tashkent, Yashnobodsky tuman, M. Riyoziy street 1, building 2)
